In this story you will hear from Varsity Wrestling Co-Head Coach, Jeron Lieser. This is Lieser’s first year as head coach of the Spartans wrestling squad. Although the team has a good group of seniors, their overall participation is less than years past. This means each wrestler will have to put in that little extra effort in order for the team to be successful this year. However, if there is any group of kids that can do it, it is surely our ROCORI Spartans. Coach Lieser, the rest of the staff, and the entire team would like to encourage the community to get on out to all of their home matches and root them on. They truly appreciate your support.

Jeremiah Dorf Competes @ State Tournament 215#

This week ROCORI senior Jeremiah Dorf participated in the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Last weekend Jeremiah took second place in the District Tournament giving him a birth in the State Tournament. Dorf's first match was against Colton Thorson, a junior from Fergus Falls who's record was 41 wins and 1 loss. The 34-8 Dorf was pinned by Thorson which moved Dorf down into the lower tournament bracket.

Jeremiah's second State Tournament match was against junior Marshal Ash 31-6, from Milaca/Faith Christian. Dorf fought a tough match but lost in 3 periods 2-5 against Ash.
