I have been watching the iTunes bookstore on a regular basis to see how quickly the iBooks2 and iBooks Author would grab hold in the marketplace. I was trying to use the word "multi-touch" as a possible category that Apple would use to separate the old version iBooks from the new version iBooks2. Last night I stumbled across a new term... the "Enhanced Book" category. It is located under the pull-down menu on the iTunes front page under "Books". (see below)
I was also pleased to see that just under 2800 books have already been accepted and published from around the world. I was concerned about how much time Apple would spend evaluating iBooks Author submitted books before they would publish them on iTunes. So far, it looks like the turn around must not be too bad. We'll see if this issue crops up again in the future.
