Marla Elness of Sauk Rapids has been chosen as the Citizen Of The Year 2007. A graduate of Sauk Rapids High School and a long term resident of the community, Elness was chosen for the extensive leadershp role she has played in the Miss Sauk Rapids Pageant, the Rapids River Days Parade and the Rapids River Food Fest.

On Thursday January 24, 2008 the Sauk Rapids Chamber gathered to hear a
presentation given by Kent Gustafson about his business HIR, LLC. There
was a record crowd on hand and they all learned about the important
business solutions that HIR could provide business owners. There was
also a communications exercise during the meeting as well as a Sauk
