The annual celebration Rock Fest came to a close as the city of Rockville played host to the Culpepper and Merriweather Circus. The circus performers dazzled the crowd with their dangerous high flying stunts, and they lightened the mood under the big top with the infectious comedic routines of other performers. This story features footage from the circus as well as exclusive interviews with two of the circus performers.

In another look at one of the tours offered during Rock-Fest we had a chance to go along and look at a granite berm. This is where all the drilling and exploding in the granite quarry takes place. This is one of the many sites that the Cold Spring Granite Company mines their granite from. The tour guide talks about the force it takes to remove the huge chunks of granite and what happens after they get the pieces of granite they want.

The weekend festivities continued with Rock-Fest’s annual cow milking contest. The competition was split into two divisions with adult and children’s brackets competing for their very own porcelain cow trophy. This story features footage from all aspects of the show and also includes some reminiscing from a community member that used to milk cows with his brother back on the farm.

The Bechtold family milks about 350 cows twice a day and it truly is a family business. The dairy farmer is one of America's fading professions. It was a great turnout at the Rock-Fest tractor pull. We had a chance to interview the person behind the kids tractor pull. Anthony Miller, a member of the Aitkin Lions Club, brings the pedal tractors to different fairs around central Minnesota. He and his wife have their three children participate in the event and the other kids participating range in age from 4-11.

Rockville kicked off its summer festival, Rock-Fest by holding their annual pageant. The pageant was considered to be a success, but members of the Rock-Fest committee are always encouraging more participation in both the pageant and any volunteer work leading up to the festival. This story features highlights from the pageant as well as an interview with pageant coordinator Peggy Adamson.
The 2007 Rock-fest has come and gone and DIGELOG was there to cover it. It was a fun, successful weekend in Rockville and many people came to watch the parade. Even though it was a hot and sticky night for a parade the town of Rockville showed up in huge numbers and were rewarded with some exciting floats and tasty treats.
