ROCORI Rockettes head down to Dance Team State Tournament 2013 @ Target Center!

It was a gathering of team members, coaches, parents and community well wishers when the ROCORI Rockettes Dance Teams, Jazz and High Kick, prepared to board the bus headed to the 2013 State Tournament.  In this video we meet all the young ladies individually and see them head out of town with a police escort. 

Songbirds Dreaming Of Spring | A Special Valentine's Video Just For You!

All the trees around Hermit Lake were painted with three inches of white over night.  This music video features Bette Kuss on the piano playing Adagio Cantabile.  Videography was done by Duane Kuss just as the sun was rising.  The music video is called "Songbirds Dreaming Of Spring".  Signs of spring reaching out asking for winter to end.  An appropriate meditation gift on Valentine's Day 2013.

Author Joel Arnold talks about the Red River Ox Cart trail that used to run through Cold Spring, Minnesota, west to the Red River Valley and straight north to Winnipeg, Canada. 

Ox Cart Angel is a novel set in 1862, the year of the Dakota uprising in Minnesota. It follows Claire Dumont and her father as they set out on a journey from the Dakota Territory, hoping to catch up to the large caravan of Métis fur traders that left the day before. Their destination? The bustling city of St. Paul, where Papa wishes to open a photography studio. But with only Bone Bag, their one-horned ox, to pull their squeaky cart, they soon realize they may have to make their treacherous journey alone. Braving bad weather, packs of wolves, dangerous river crossings, starvation and exhaustion, Claire and her father try their best to survive the deeply rutted ox cart trails.

In this video, Arnold talks about ox carts and the legacy they left behind in transporting hides down from Canada and exchanging them for pots and pans, flour and other living goods purchased in St. Paul, Minnesota.

ROCORI Dance Team @ Sections Dance Championships win trip to state!

DigElog was in Sartell this past weekend on Saturday, February 2nd and captured the ROCORI Spartan Dance Team ladies on their way to the dance sections competition. Both the Spartan Jazz team and High Kick teams are featured. These two teams placed third among 14 teams that competed that day. See the ROCORI team as their name is announced during the awards ceremony. As the result of their third place finishes on Saturday, both ROCORI Dance teams, High Kick and Jazz will be competing at the 2013 Minnesota State Dance competitions later this month.
