Jo Burton

I love history of any kind and ejoyed Mr. Hesse's story about the coal train. It brought tears to my eyes. I remember as a child growing up in the 50's and 60's the train came through our small town of Mizpah. We played in the vacant lot next to the tracks and waited for the evening train to pass by. The engineer would toss a few pieces of candy out the window as he passed by. As a family of nine, candy was a real treat and that is one of the fondest memories of my childhood .
