Interview With Coach Brink- Part Four

 

In our fourth and final interview with ROCORI Boy's Basketball Coach Bob Brink, he discusses the rich tradition of ROCORI basketball. He has had numerous players come through his system whose fathers had also played for him. Brink also shares how his assistant coaches' philosophies mirror his own. In building the basketball program from the ground up, it allows Brink to focus more on the "flex offense" that he runs- but no matter what, Brink will always focus on the fundamentals.

ROCORI School District Office on the Move!

In this story you'll get a chance to see and hear the sights and sounds from the ROCORI School District's Office as it moves just slightly up the utility road behind the high school. The actual building itself was hoisted up onto a semi-truck! The process took a few days as the crew did a fine job prepping the site for the building's new home. While nobody can predict the future, it is quite possible that the city of Cold Spring missed a fantastic opportunity to bring an important business into town. Obviously there is much more to the story than our two videos, but watch this two-part story from a year ago and judge for yourself. 

One Year Ago

It seems like everybody these days is concerned with Green Energy. By now, many folks already know that Green Energy is just a fancy way of saying environmentally friendly energy. DigElog ROCORI is proud to bring you coverage from a presentation given by David A. Winkelman, a project manager for Winklemans Environmentally Responsible Construction. Mr. Winkleman has over 30 years of experience in construction, conservation based education and marketing, targeted to national audiences of consumers.

During his presentation, Winkleman also proposed that a group of developers build a showcase store for green energy solutions on the edge of Cold Spring on Highway 23 on the old Auto Dealership lot. Included on this lot would be an actual 180-foot wind turbine. This story is sure to generate a lot of buzz around Cold Spring, and there will be another meeting tonight at City Hall at 7:30 p.m. on this topic. Watch this story to learn more.

ROCORI Trail Update With Larry Lahr

In this story you will hear from Cold Spring City Administrator Larry Lahr as he gives us another ROCORI Trail Project update. Just recently, Governor Tim Pawlenty approved more funds to be allocated to the ROCORI Trail Project. This is significant news because due to the financial status of the state of Minnesota, Pawlenty was forced to veto many trail project requests. Watch this story to learn more about what is going on with the trail.

ROCORI Falls to Apollo in Section Semifinals

The ROCORI Spartans opened up Section play from Halenbeck Hall as the top seed taking on the fourth seeded St. Cloud Apollo Eagles last Saturday. ROCORI Started strong as senior Scott Willenbring led the charge. After jumping out to a big lead, St. Cloud Apollo would cut the deficit and ROCORI's halftime lead was only four points.

Nothing went right for ROCORI in the second half. St. Cloud Apollo erased ROCORI's four-point lead within seconds and they continued to score points as they established a solid inside presence. Meanwhile, the Spartans could not hit a shot on the offensive end. What was once as much as an eight-point lead for ROCORI had turned into a double-digit lead for Apollo. The Spartans would make a late second half comeback, but the damage was already done, and they fell to St. Cloud Apollo 54 - 50 in the section semifinals.

2010 Community Showcase is Coming- March 27, 2010

One Year Ago

DigElog ROCORI was on hand at the 2009 Community Showcase, held at the ROCORI High School gymnasium. This annual event boasts a wide range of activities and is fun for the entire family. Best of all, it’s absolutely free.

In this story, you’ll hear from Tony Nathe, president of the Cold Spring Area Historical Society, as he tells us about the fundraiser breakfast that preceded the Showcase. You’ll also hear from DigElog ROCORI’s own Sam Kuss as he tells us about a back massage that he received during the showcase. DigElog ROCORI would like to thank all of the participating businesses at the event this year as well as the volunteers that make this special day happen. This event truly is an awesome display of community togetherness.

2010 Census

In this story you will hear from Waite Park Police Officer Alicia Mages as she discusses the importance of filling out your 2010 U.S. Census Form.
