Ralph Sager * OBITUARY

Age 87

Cold Spring

May 23, 1922 – October 31, 2009

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farming, MN for Ralph Sager, age 87, who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Farming, Minnesota.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the Narthex of Immanuel Church.  A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Just for Fun: A Little Pumpkin Carving

In the spirit of Halloween, DigElog ROCORI’s own Dustin Williams and his new wife Leeah carved pumpkins at their home. Leeah chose to carve her new last name into her pumpkin while Dustin chose to carve the WNBA logo in his. Watch the process as we sped up the tape. Nice work! Terror on 23

DigElog ROCORI proudly presents Terror on 23. Last week, Terror on 23 Director Chris Chapman granted DigElog ROCORI full access to the haunted house in Cold Spring. Local service groups such as the Jaycees, ROCORI athletic groups, and The Great Northern Theater Company are heavily involved in the production and for their members’ time, each organization receives a share of the event’s profits. If you haven’t made it out to Terror on 23, it is a must see. Best of all, the entire haunted house is indoors, the cost is minimal, and the proceeds go to a great cause.

ROCORI Spartans vs. Little Falls Flyers Preview

Here is a sneak preview of the ROCORI Spartans playoff game against Little Falls. Watch this video highlight, as Spencer Schulte rips the football out of Zach Horejsi’s hands. Alex Weiman quickly pounces on the football and ROCORI would take over on their own four yard-line. Be sure to stay tuned to DigElog ROCORI for complete highlights from the game.  ROCORI did lose this one 7-21 with Little Falls moving on in the playoffs.

Spartans Football Team Travels to Bemidji for Regular Season Finale

After last weeks thrilling victory against the Willmar Cardinals, the Spartans had to quickly prepare for the Bemidji Lumberjacks. Although ROCORI has been impressive on the road this year, they have not had a bus ride as long as the trip to Bemidji. High school athletes often come out sluggish in the first half when traveling for three-plus hours. This game however, was the exception. ROCORI flew out of the gates grabbing a 13-0 lead while the defense looked mighty impressive against the run.

 

For the second week in a row the Spartans came out in the second half looking like a completely different team. Only this week, they looked as if they forgot how to play football when the third quarter started. Fueled by pride and an energized crowd, the Lumberjacks marched down the field for three touchdowns in the third quarter. After putting six points back on the board, ROCORI needed one more score to take the lead. Watch all of the highlights to see how the rest of the game unfolded, and be sure to catch the Spartans in action tonight at home as they take on Little Falls at 7 p.m.

Age 76

Richmond, MN

January 24, 1933 – October 25, 2009

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Mike (Melvin) Plantenberg, age 76, who died Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Burial will be in the Sts. Peter & Paul Parish Cemetery. 

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.  Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Golden Smiles Senior Citizens, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Order of Foresters on Wednesday at the funeral home.

ROCORI Spartans vs. Bemidji Lumberjacks Preview

With ROCORI trailing 21- 19, and Derek Lieser on the sideline with a dislocated finger, sophomore Nathan Meyer was forced to come in and play quarterback for the Spartans. Not only did Meyer fill in for two throws, he fired a brilliant pass on the move to Eric Loxtercamp and then found him again in the end zone as he rolled to his left for the two-point conversion.
