DigElog ROCORI History: 2007 Rock-fest Motorcycle Rally

This story features footage from the annual motorcycle tour at Rock-Fest and also an interview with the legendary custom motorcycle creator, Donnie Smith. Digelog Rocori would like to congratulate the Rockville community on the success of Rock-Fest and we hope that next year will be bigger and better.

Be sure to catch all of the 2009 Rock-fest activities. On Friday July 11, 2009 a new group of Rockville Royalty will be crowned. Early Saturday the Rock-Fest festivities begin and they continue through the day, until the evening, when the Rockville Parade travels through town.

MN Teen Challenge Men's choir sings @ Peace Lutheran

This morning a group of 50 young men performed as a part of the Sunday 9:00 service @ Peace Lutheran in Cold Spring. They are a part of the Minnesota Teen Challenge program, one of the largest residential drug and alcohol programs in the state. They provide both 60-Day and year long drug treatment programs. Www. Between songs, a few men, young and old, gave their testimonials about their life-long struggle with drugs and alcohol.  Better than 50% of the choir had been involved with their addiction before they were 10 years old.  Misuse of common pain killers available from the local drug store was a too often heard theme among the stories told.

Cold Spring Farmers' Market

Back and better than ever, the Cold Spring Farmers’ Market has a new location this year. Every Wednesday from 3:30 – 6 p.m. local vendors gather at Springer Park in the parking lot. In this story you will hear from the manager of the market Barb Rasmussen as she gives us some details about the market. Richmond Resort Canoe Expedition

In this story you will meet Susan Schlangen, a teacher at Richmond Resort, a.k.a. Richmond Elementary. Each year Richmond Elementary creates a theme for their summer students in order to put a positive spin on their summer program. This year, the theme for the summer program is “conservation.”

You’ll also meet one of the staff members from Prarie Woods Environmental Learning Center as he tells us about the voyageur canoe trip that he is leading. Prairie Woods is a nonprofit learning center that is committed to providing outstanding environmental education and outdoor experiences for people of all ages. Although this story is not directly related to the land of ROCORI, we at DigElog pride ourselves on capturing stories and leaving a legacy for those that follow us. After 18 months of fund raising, this past week the Cold Spring Walk n' Wheel Loop committee celebrated in a live video ground breaking ceremony.  In this story you'll here from a number of committee members about this wonderful community effort.  A part of the trail is expected to be completed before the end of July, 2008.  This is a great "Land Of ROCORI" story.
