On Friday May 15, 2009 members of the ROCORI community welcomed sponsors and special guests to the Blue Heron Restaurant in Cold Spring. Curt Karls spoke to the attendees and he introduced the past and present Minnesota Commanders of the Disabled American Veterans. All proceeds from the Old Glory Run are donated to the DAV.
Past Commander Dean R. Ascheman (2008-2009) and present Commander Al Holtan spoke to the crowd, and they had the great honor of introducing the National Commander of the DAV who was in attendance for the weekend festivities, Commander Raymond E. Dempsey. Dempsey spoke briefly to the crowd and gave thanks to all who are involved with this great event.
