Last month, Skanson and another faculty member, Ms. Ebnet, made a deal with the elementary students that for every thousand dollars they raised for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society they would each eat one earth worm. In addition, Skanson also made an agreement that if the students raised a certain level of funds, he would buzz his hair. You don't want to miss this story!

Richmond MN Native Tells How He Lived The "HARVEY MILK" Story (PART 2)

Just over a month ago, DigElog ROCORI had the chance to interview a local connection to the film Milk. Growing up with severe disabilities in Richmond, Gerard Dols contacted Harvey Milk (the main character in Milk) in regards to potentially running away to California. Dols did eventually speak with Milk as well as move to California. However, there is much more to the story. In part two of this interview, Dols discusses his adolescent life and the events that led up to him contacting Harvey Milk. Be sure to stay tuned to DigElog ROCORI for the rest of this interview. ROCORI Varsity Softball - PRE-SEASON TEAM UPDATE

Last season, the ROCORI Spartans softball team just missed making the state tournament. Coming into the 2009 season the girls are healthy and hungry to go even farther this year. Age 84

Cold Spring

November 18, 1924 – March 29, 2009

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 2, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Celestine G. Pierskalla, age 84, who died Sunday at the Assumption Home, Cold Spring.  Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m.,  at 7:00 p.m. the Cold Spring Area Maennerchor will sing a tribute, followed by a rosary with the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Society on Wednesday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home.

The DigElog Editorial team pulled this video out of the archives made in 1991.  It features the Cold Spring Area Mannerchor providing a in-flight mini concert on the plane crossing the Atlantic headed for Frankfurt, Germany.  The video starts right in the middle of a song where Duane Kuss is singing a solo.
Celestine Pierskalla  or Cel as he was known to his fellow Maennerchor members, is located just to the left of Duane and to the right of LaVerne Maile.  Other memorial members featured in this video include Gil Theis, Bud Arnold, and Ali Rausch.

Lorraine M. Ehresmann * OBITUARY

Age 79

St. Martin

October 5, 1929 – March 27, 2009

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 30, 2009 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Lorraine M. Ehresmann, age 79, who died Friday at the Paynesville Area Hospital after a year long battle with cancer. Burial will be in the St. Martin Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Monday morning in the St. Martin Parish Hall.  A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m.  by the St. Ann’s Christian Women, Catholic Aid Association, and the Rosary Sodality followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening.
