Richmond Native Has Ties To "MILK" Oscar Winning Film

Just before the Academy Awards were held on February 22, 2009, DigElog ROCORI had the chance to interview a Richmond, Minnesota connection to the film "Milk", Chaplain Gerard Dols. While there is some dispute among gay activists as to whether or not Dols is directly involved in the film, there is no disputing that he personally knew Harvey Milk.

Our camera crew sat down with Richmond, Minnesota native Gerard Dols for an hour at his home in Minneapolis.  We explored not only his connection to the film Milk, but also his personal life as a gay male in the late 1970's and his becoming a "Born Again" Christian.
