Dolores “Dolly” Helmin * OBITUARY

Age 78

Cold Spring

December 8, 1929 – August 30, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Dolores “Dolly” Helmin, age 78, who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in the funeral home.

In this play you’ll see captain, and star running back, Nick Schneider hurdle an opposing defender and scamper 27 yards for a touchdown. 2008 Blue Grass Festival * MONROE CROSSING

Welcome to the annual Blue Grass festival held at El Rancho Manana just north of Cold Spring. In this story, you’ll hear a full length performance from the group Monroe Crossing. The group put on a fabulous set, and this was one of their best performances, Into the Fire. As always, El Rancho Manana did a fantastic job hosting the festival as people from all across the state came out to partake in the festivities. This event has been growing every year so make sure to be ready next summer when the festival comes back.

ROCORI Spartan Varsity Football 2008

In this story, the new head coach of the ROCORI football program, Joel Baumgarten gives us a preview of the 2008 season. DigElog ROCORI was on site at the ROCORI high school for the teams first week of practice. As always, there are some new players stepping into different roles, but the team feels that the attitude at practice has been positive.

2008 Hometown Pride Festival * CAR SHOW

Here's a glimpse at some of the 2008 Hometown Pride Car Show highlights.  We'll meet Jeff Ruprecht from Paynesville, MN, who has spent the past the past two years with his Son, working on a 1970 Volkswagon micro bus.  The most famous love mobile of the flower generation hippie era.  We'll take a tour inside and out of this totally refurbished vehicle.  We'll also meet Leo Whitman from Brainerd, MN, who brought down his 41 Plymouth Coupe to the show.  He has spent the past 5 years rebuilding this vehicle from the tires up.  Leo has done a terrific job making this truly a show stopper classic vehicle.

ROCORI City Update * August 25, 2008

In this version of the ROCORI city update, Rena Weber tells us about a number of things that are going on in Rockville. She lets us know that there is Nitrate testing going on this week for anyone that has their own private wells for drinking water. Also, there have been further developments with the detachment hearing, and those are covered in more detail in this story.

Larry Lahr brings us an update about the Walk and Wheel Loop that runs between assumption home and the middle school. Many thanks go out to the volunteers that helped pull this project together. Larry tells us that public pathways like the loop are cornerstones to positive and prosperous communities.

Lastly, Dan Coughlin is back to tell us about some exciting things that are happening in Richmond. The city council has been working tirelessly to bring in funding for a number of city projects that will be happening in the next year. Age 81

Rockville

November 7, 1926 – August 22, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Rockville, MN for John J. Seelen age 81, who died Friday at the Golden Living Center – Otter Tail Lake in Battle Lake, Minnesota.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. on Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Church in Rockville.  Parish Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus Rosary Monday evening at the funeral home.
