Grace Kellner - "The Pop Factory"

Meet Grace Kellner who has lived in Cold Spring all of her life, some 93 years.  Grace talks about living on the land directly across the Sauk River from what used to be Cold Spring Granite at the base of the natural spring that flows out of the hills to the south.  Hear how her father ran the "Pop Factory" and distributed Cold Spring Spring Water Pop to stores, bars and restaurants all around the area. Find out what happened to the "Pop Factory" when the Cold Spring Granite dam blew up just a few hundred yards away.

The 2008 ROCORI Alumni Tounament was held this past weekend in Cold Spring. The 16 team tournament has been a huge success for the past 20 years and a lot of the thanks has to go to Jerry Sparby. Jerry is the Principal at Cold Spring Elementary School and he is one of the organizers of this tournament every year. The tournament teams range in age from right out of high school to guys celebrating their 25th year out of high school.

The ROCORI boys basketball team traveled to Sartell to take on the Sabres in CLC action. ROCORI's defense was amazing as they limited the Sabres to just 23 first half points. Luke Vossen and Brian Hansen played their best games of the season. When it was all said and done the Spartans picked up a huge road victory as they look to get back into the fight for CLC supremacy.

Daniel “Dan” Salzer - Obituary

Age: 76

Cold Spring

October 10, 1931 – February 16, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Daniel “Dan” Salzer, age 76, who died Saturday after a six month battle with Mesothelioma, an asbestos cancer.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by the St. Joseph Society Monday evening.
