This past weekend the 25th Annual Broomball Tournament was held at Pioneer Park in Cold Spring. This may be the longest running outdoor broomball tournament in the world.
Twelve teams competed this year representing the communities of St. Cloud, Eden Valley, Watkins and ROCORI. Kurt Hemmisch is the key organizer for the tournament and also the league coordinator of the Cold Spring Broomball program.
The sport is very similar to ice hockey but instead of a puck there's a hard rubber ball and instead of skates, the players wear a special rubber boot.
Check out all the action in this fun 5 minute video. Sometimes this game looks more like football than ice hockey.

Awesome Tourney!
I have a broomball team in Cambridge and have been looking for a tournament to enter into. Is this tournament still going on this year? (I'm guessing its already passed...) and do you know where I could try and register my team for this tourney?
