This has been a very successful year for the Rocori Cross Country team. One member of the girls team has consistently competed as a top 10 and many times as a top 5 runner throughout the year.
This past Thursday, Rocori freshman Caitlyn Dingmann finished 7th at the section finals meet in Moorehead. This qualified her for the state meet which takes place at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, on this coming Saturday, November 5th.
Some of the Caitlyn's accomplishments earlier in the season included a second place finish in Paynesville on September 30th and a first place finish in Albany on September 28th. This will be Caitlyn's second time competing at the state level. She had her first trip to state two years ago as a 7th grader.
This year Dingmann ran an excellent race in the Moorehead sectional competition. "The course was flat and windy." said Head Coach Chuck Griffith. "She ran a very stong race, stayed in the front of the pack, and put herself in a position that she could hold for the end of the race."
Caitlyn Dingmann will be joined by her coaches when she runs in the Class AA State Cross Country Meet this coming Saturday beginning at 11:00am. The land of Rocori congratulates Caitlyn and wants her to know how proud we are that she is representing us in the State Cross Country Meet.
