Prep football
The ROCORI Spartans hosted the Alexandria Cardinals Friday evening. Alexandria, which suffered a tough 9-7 loss to Brainerd last week, was just a little too much for the Rocori gridiron Friday night. The Spartan football team lost to Alexandria 21 to 13.

Prep Tennis
Willmar 4, Rocori 3
The Rocori tennis team traveled to Willmar to face the Cardinals. It took the three singles matches won by the Cardinals to finally put away the Spartans allowing the 4 to 3 win for the Cardinals. Spartans (3-1 Central Lakes, 6-5 overall).
Earlier in the week, the Rocori at Brainerd girls tennis was postponed due to rain.

Prep Volleyball
Rocori 3, Fergus Falls 1
Cold Spring hosted the volleyball match this week with Fergus Falls. Rocori won the match through the dominant play of a number of Spartan leaders. Angie Feldhege had 10 kills, Sam Pfannenstein had 16 set assists and Jenny Weisbrich had 18 set assists. The Spartan volleyball team is now 1 and 3 in the Central Lakes conference and 5-5 overall.

Cross Country
The Rocori Boys & Girls cross country teams traveled to Little Falls this week to compete in the Lucky Lindy Invitational. The Rocori boys group placed 14 out of 17 teams. Team scores for the girls were not available.
Former Rocori running star Hailey Harren, placed first among the college women this week who competed at the St. John's Invitational cross country meet. Harren is going to school and running for Gustavus.

Swimming
Sartell 110, Rocori 69
Sartell traveled to Cold Spring this week and won all of the first 10 events in swimming competition. Standouts for Rocori included Quinn Griffin's win in the 100 breaststroke and the 400 freestyle relay won by B. Hagen, K. Hanson, B. Mehr and T. Schmitt.

CITY NEWS
The top six have been chosen during yesterday's elections for the ROCORI School Board. Those individuals include Dennis Gregory, Lynn Schurman, Nadine Schnettler, Ken Hollerud and Lawence Literest Jr. . These six candidates will be on the ballot for the general election later this fall where three postions are to be filled.
Check back later this month when DigElogROCORI will conduct video interviews with each of the final candidates.

Duane and Diane Mehr of Richmond, announce the engagement of their daughter, Danielle, to Paul Carlson, son of Gary and Marilyn Carlson of Ortonville.
The wedding is scheduled for Oct. 1 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, in Richmond.

Anniversaries
Audrey, Vince Schaefer, 45 years, St. Cloud
Vince and Audrey Schaefer, 541 Caroline Lane in Rockville, will celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary Sept. 18 with a 10 a.m. Mass at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, Rockville, followed by a private celebration near St. Joseph.
The celebration will be hosted by the couple's children and their spouses, Greg and Mary Schaefer of St. Cloud, Jackie and Earl Schaefer-Pierskalla of St. Joseph, Sheryl and Tom Kahlert of Buffalo, and Lisa and Jesse Rund of Chaska. The couple has five grandchildren.
Vince and Audrey (Crepeau) Schaefer were married in Rockville, MN on Sept. 17, 1960, at Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church.
