Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Farming, MN for Ralph Sager, age 87, who died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Farming, Minnesota.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning in the Narthex of Immanuel Church. A prayer service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Ralph was born in Farming Township, MN to Ernest and Edna (Kutz) Sager. He married Lorraine Lemke on January 21, 1949 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Farming. Ralph farmed in his younger days, worked for the Cold Spring Brewing Company for 23 years and then worked in the Maintenance Department for the City of Cold Spring for 16 years retiring in 1987. Ralph loved spending time with his family. Ralph enjoyed woodworking, music, hunting, fishing and reading. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Parish and Choir and the Square Dancing Club.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Lorraine; children, Sharon O’Geay of Cold Spring, Luanne (Roger) Sager-Westerberg of Nimrod and Gary (Caea) of Minnetonka; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Kremers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Katie; son-in-law, Rocky O’Geay; brother, Donald; sister-in-law, Ethel.
Memorials are preferred to Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
