Cold Spring

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 28, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Kenneth Ebeling, age 67, who died Friday at the St. Cloud Hospital.
Relatives and friends may call from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday (TODAY) at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring and from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Monday morning in the Narthex of St. Boniface Church. Parish Prayers will be at 7:45 p.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus Sunday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home.
Ken was born in Bemidji, MN to Erhart and Leona (Hieserich) Ebeling. He married Adah Enzi on September 5, 1964 in Braddock, North Dakota. Ken got his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at North Dakota State University in Fargo, ND, and his PhD. at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. He taught Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing at North Dakota State University in Fargo about 38 years. He ran a summer program for high ability high school students for many years. He was also instrumental in developing the Engineering PhD. Program at N.D.S.U. He was very active in both the 3rd degree and 4th degree Knights of Columbus in Minnesota and North Dakota. Ken did extensive work on genealogy and put together books on the Hieserichs, Schneiders, Ebelings and Mandigos. He enjoyed working with computers. Ken enjoyed the go cart he won on The Price is Right in 2007, his new jet ski, telling tall tales, playing jokes on family and friends, playing pinochle and trips for model T parts with neighbors. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Assumption Council #5344, and Father Pierz Assembly of St. Cloud Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his loving wife, Adah; sons, Tim (Valerie Becker) Ebeling and Tom (Maribel Real) Ebeling; grandchildren, Pablo, Matthew, Gabriella, Ashley, Marco and Lucas; mother, Leona and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandra, Sheryle and Shirley; father, Erhart and his grandparents.
