Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pearl Lake, MN for Daniel J. Steichen, age 61, who died at home in the early morning, following a three year battle with prostate cancer. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Parish Cemetery, Pearl Lake.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the Wenner Funeral Home, Cold Spring.
Daniel was born in St. Cloud, MN to Alfred and Angeline (Bottema) Steichen. He served in the Army National Guard. Dan married Kathleen Margaret Pramann on April 12, 1975. He farmed the original Steichen homestead his entire life, and enjoyed over the road trucking in his later years. He was a loving husband and devoted father.
Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Kathleen; children, Paul (Kimberly), Ryan, Caryn (Benjamin), Carla (Jason), Keith and Chris; grandchildren, Abigail, Meghann, Edward, Anthony and one more on the way; siblings, John, Donald, Agnes Notch, Kathryn Schueller and Mary Ann Eull.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Angeline and Marlys.
