Roman Braegelmann

Age 78

Cold Spring

November 1, 1929 – July 30, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Roman Braegelmann, age 78, who died naturally on Wednesday while fishing.  Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.) and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday morning in the Narthex of St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring.  Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home, followed by the Cold Spring American Legion, Catholic Aid Association and St. James Men’s Society.

Roman was born in Richmond, MN to Paul and Theresa (Fienhage) Braegelmann. He married Bertha Schlangen on August 31, 1955 in Richmond.  Roman loved and cherished his family.   He served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Roman was a lifelong farmer in Cold Spring retiring in 2001.  He had a knack for ‘story telling’ and enjoyed playing cards and fishing.  He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Cold Spring American Legion, Catholic Aid Association and the St. James Men’s Society.

Survivors include his wife, Bertha; children, Barbara (David) Laabs of Litchfield, Bernie Braegelmann (Larry Schultz) of Minnetonka, Roger (Sheila) of Kimball, Irene (Randy) Somdalen of Sartell, Janet (Keith) Finstad of Cold Spring, Alice (Gene) Schweiss of Maple Grove, Paul (Terri) of Cold Spring, Leon of Minnetonka, Kurt (Jolene) of Cold Spring and Amy (Dale) Gronhovd of Sartell;15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Willenbring of Richmond and Anna Mae (Joe) Gruenes of Richmond; sister-in-law, Melania Braegelmann of Richmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wendelin and Donald; sons-in-law, James Braun and Tom Loch; grandchild, Derrick Schweiss.

Jean Dockendorf

Age 70

Cold Spring

August 14, 1937 – July 11, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Jean Dockendorf, age 70, who died Friday morning at Assumption Nursing Home.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Catholic Aid Association and Christian Women on Monday afternoon.

Jean was born in Alexandria, MN to Paul and Ella (Hedstrom) Wilcox. She married James Dockendorf on April 4, 1959.  Jean loved and cherished her family, spending time with her grandchildren was her pride and joy. She worked as an x-ray tech at Paynesville Clinic and North Clinic in Mpls.  Jean worked 25 years at the Assumption home in many areas; laundry, activities and as a nurses aid.  For the last 6 years she volunteered doing many things at the John Paul Apartments.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, reading, cross word puzzles, embroidery and the MN Twins!  She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic Aid Association and Christian Women.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; children, Deb Ruegemer of Cold Spring, Sandy (Bart) Sanquist of Waite Park, Steve (Chris) of Raymond, CA, Tim (Jean) of Waite Park, Jenny Weber of Paynesville and David (Angel) of Northfield; sister, Sharon Muzik of Alexandria; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth.

Amanda Blonigen

Age 75

St. Martin

September 6, 1932 – July 5, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Amanda Blonigen, age 75, who died Saturday at the Melrose Hospital.  Burial will be in the St. Martin Parish Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday (TODAY) and from
9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Martin Parish Hall in St. Martin.  Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Christian Women and Catholic Aid Association Monday evening.  Arrangements were entrusted with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.

Amanda was born in Farming, MN to Gregor and Cecilia (Behnen) Wieber. She married Christopher Blonigen on June 23, 1953 in St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Farming.  Amanda was a farm housewife and raised 11 children.  She sewed most of the children’s clothes.  In her later years she sewed pot holders.  Amanda also enjoyed singing in the church choir, gardening and canning.  She was a member of St. Martin Parish, Christian Women and the Catholic Aid Association.  Alzheimer’s may have taken Amanda from us, but not our many fond memories of her.

Survivors include her husband, Christopher; sons, Roger (Sharon), Reuben, Roman (Mary), Marvin, John (Renee), Leon (Marie), Vernon (Sherri) and Melvin; daughters, Rosie (Roger) Walsh, Lora (Wendell) Larson and Janette (Jim) Niklaus; 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers and sister, Lawrence Wieber, Richard Wieber and Mary Jo Wieber.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Linda (Lentz) Blonigen.

Wendelin T. (Van) Voigt

Age 84

Marty (Pearl Lake)

August 27, 1923 – July 5, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Marty, MN for Wendelin T. Voigt, age 84, who died peacefully at his home Saturday surrounded by his family.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.  Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m.

Wendelin was born in Luxemburg, MN to Bernard and Anna (Kenning) Voigt. He married Rose Mary Weber on May 1, 1952 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, Marty.  Wendelin loved and cherished his family.  Wendelin was a dairy farmer and he enjoyed gardening, fishing, deer hunting and playing cards.  He was a member of Holy Cross Parish.

Survivors include his loving wife, Rose; children, Daniel (Doris) of Cold Spring, Catherine (Jim) Gregory of Rockford, Donna (Jeff) Schulz of Brainerd, Patricia (Clyde) Reimann of St. Michael, Karen (Randy) Reitmeier of Brooklyn Park and Edward (Joan) of Cold Spring; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Martha Holley of MI and Eleanor Reh of St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Clemence, Roman, Helen Fuchs, Alma Weber, Sylvester, Ervin and William.

Elmer Arceneau

Age 72

St. Martin

November 18, 1935 – July 1, 2008

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2008 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Elmer Arceneau, age 72, who died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Parish Hall in St. Martin.  Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. followed by the St. Joseph Society, Knights of Columbus, St. Martin Lions, Albany American Legion.  Arrangements were entrusted with the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond.

Elmer was born in St. Martin, MN to John and Theresa (Blonigen) Arceneau. He married Lucille Dirkes on September 5, 1960 in Seven Dolors Church, Albany.  Elmer loved and cherished his family.  He served in the United States Army from 1957-1959 in Germany and Lebanon.  Elmer and Lucille farmed North of St. Martin.  He enjoyed baseball, softball, fishing, traveling, and mowing grass in retirement!  He was a member of St. Martin Parish, St. Joseph’s Society. Knights of Columbus, St. Martin Lions, Albany American Legion, and a former member of the St. Martin Baseball Team (1956-1962).

Survivors include his loving wife, Lucille; children, Mary (Fred) Overman, Doris (Melvin) Schlangen, Alice (Alvin) Schlangen, Jeffrey (Sheela), Judy (Ron) Harley, Dennis (Diane), Brian, Glen (Lori), Kenny, Linda (Dale) Schroeder, Daniel, James (Lori), Neil (Angela); 23 grandchildren; brother, Bernard (JoAnn); sisters, Margaret Hellmann, Anna Mae Schneider; sister-in-law, Lola Arceneau; brother-in-law, Donald Herzog.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Lucille; brothers, Alois, Norbert, Edwin and Clarence; sisters, Hildegard Lemke, Jenny Blommel, Dorothy Wenker, Betty Herzog and Della Feldewerd.
