Cold Spring

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Roman Braegelmann, age 78, who died naturally on Wednesday while fishing. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.) and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Monday morning in the Narthex of St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home, followed by the Cold Spring American Legion, Catholic Aid Association and St. James Men’s Society.
Roman was born in Richmond, MN to Paul and Theresa (Fienhage) Braegelmann. He married Bertha Schlangen on August 31, 1955 in Richmond. Roman loved and cherished his family. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Roman was a lifelong farmer in Cold Spring retiring in 2001. He had a knack for ‘story telling’ and enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Cold Spring American Legion, Catholic Aid Association and the St. James Men’s Society.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha; children, Barbara (David) Laabs of Litchfield, Bernie Braegelmann (Larry Schultz) of Minnetonka, Roger (Sheila) of Kimball, Irene (Randy) Somdalen of Sartell, Janet (Keith) Finstad of Cold Spring, Alice (Gene) Schweiss of Maple Grove, Paul (Terri) of Cold Spring, Leon of Minnetonka, Kurt (Jolene) of Cold Spring and Amy (Dale) Gronhovd of Sartell;15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; sisters, Leona Willenbring of Richmond and Anna Mae (Joe) Gruenes of Richmond; sister-in-law, Melania Braegelmann of Richmond.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Wendelin and Donald; sons-in-law, James Braun and Tom Loch; grandchild, Derrick Schweiss.
