Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Loretta “Kraut” Olmscheid, age 66, who died at her home from natural causes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Martin Parish Center. Parish prayers will be at 8:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Catholic Aid Association on Monday evening. Arrangements were entrusted to the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Loretta was born in St. Martin, MN to Bernard and Rosa (Garding) Olmscheid. She worked for Pickwick-a record company, from many years. Loretta graduated from St. Catherine’s School of Nursing in 1992 and worked at Minneapolis Children’s Hospital retiring in May 2007. She enjoyed her family, friends and sports. Loretta was a member of St. Martin Catholic Aid Association, the Eagles Club and was the president of the Minneapolis USBC (United States Bowling Congress).
Survivors include her family, Mary Jo Kelly of Apple Valley, Eleanor (Jerome) Mohs of St. Cloud, Tillie (Norm) Wehlage of Meire Grove, Monica (David) Vig of Coon Rapids, Lu (Orv) Brang of New Munich, Ginny (John) Dingman of St. Joseph, Val (Glen) Poepping of Cold Spring, Clancey (Joan) of St. Martin, Linda (Joe) Roehrl of Redwood Falls, Alvie (Joyce) of Roscoe and Mary (Ken) Hiltner of Albany; sister-in-law, Joan Olmscheid of St. Cloud; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sylvester; nephew, Mark Olmscheid and great nephew, Isaac Funk.
