Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for William “Bill” Dingmann, age 93, who died Friday at the Talahi Care Center, St. Cloud, MN. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Tuesday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S.E.). Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Catholic Order of Foresters, Men’s Society and Golden Smiles Senior Citizens.
Bill was born in Albany, MN to Henry B. and Gertrude (Ramler) Dingmann. He married Mildred Schmitt on May 27, 1941 in the St. Martin Catholic Church, St. Martin, MN. The couple farmed in St. Nicholas from 1941 -1983. After retiring they moved to Richmond. Bill enjoyed directing his 5 sons while driving tractor! His hobbies include; woodworking, gardening, ice fishing and playing cards. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters, Men’s Society and the Golden Smiles.
Survivors include Mildred, his wife of 66 years; children, Kathleen (Jim) Utecht of Cape Coral, FL, Eugene (Ann) of St. Cloud, Dennis (Sondra) of Palo Alto, CA, Harv (Teri) of St. Cloud, Larry (LaDonna) of Coon Rapids, Ron (Larry Tuura) of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 9 step great-grandchildren; brother, Joe (Eileen) Dingmann; sisters, Sr. Virginia Dingmann, O.S.F. and Irene (Ray) Schneider; sisters-in-law, Marie, Theresa, Viola and Alma.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Ervin, Albert, Dorothy, Raymond, Alfred, Leander, Paul and Frances Kohnen.
Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
