Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2008
at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Angela “Angie”
Monnens, age 82, who died Monday at the Assumption Nursing Home, Cold
Spring. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00
– 10:30 a.m. Thursday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home Richmond (151
Oakwood Ave. S.E). Parish prayers will be at 5:00 p.m. followed by a
rosary with the Christian Women and Golden Smiles Senior Citizens.
Angie was born in Marystown, MN to Leo and Augusta (Gruendhofer)
Theisen. She married Jerome Monnens on June 30, 1948 in St. Boniface Church,
Cold Spring. Angie sang with her sisters in The Theisen Sisters
Quartete, played piano with the Gil Steil Polka Band, enjoyed playing cards,
wrote for the Cold Spring Record for 30+ years, published 10 poetry
books, wrote numerous articles for many National Magazines. Writing was
her life! She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish and Christian
Women.
Survivors include her children, Judi Brisse of CA, Max Monnens (Deb
Vogt), Shirl (Mudis) Torborg and Bob Monnens all of Richmond, Lynette
Monnens of St. Cloud and Gary (Kathy) Monnens of NC; 11 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren; siblings, Harold “Archie” (Carrie) Theisen of
Monticello, Wally Theisen of St. Cloud and Nettie (Jerry) Pastoors of
Anoka and sister-in-law, Ann Theisen of AZ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome “Jerry” (1984);
parents; siblings and their spouses, Lee Theisen, Rosie (Mark) Oster,
Lorraine “Lollie” Theisen, Lillian (Jerry) Twit and sister-in-law, Dorothy
“Dot” Thiesen.
