Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 27, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Alfred “Fritz” Braegelmann, age 82, who died Monday at his home in Richmond. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Golden Smiles and Catholic Aid Association at 4:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
Alfred was born in Richmond, MN to Henry C. and Frances (Spanier) Braegelmann. He married Dolores Willenbring on September 28, 1949 in Richmond, MN. During his lifetime, Alfred farmed near St. Nicholas until retirement in 1994. After moving to Richmond, he enjoyed doing lawn care for Springhaven/Pine West. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, playing cards, and watching Twins Baseball. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Catholic Aid Association and Richmond Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores; children, Judy (Gene) Schutz of Watkins, Millie (Jerry) Janssen of Cold Spring, Jim (Mary Jane Carlentini) of Omaha, NE, Bonnie (Mike) Mueller of Cold Spring, Gerry (Lisa Friedrich) of St. Joseph, Bede (Julia Heinz) of Eden Prairie, Joanne (Pat) Porritt of Midlothian, TX, Sue (Keith) Olmscheid of Ham Lake, Chuck (Lori Laudenbach) of St. Cloud, Roger (Stacy Suter) of Big Lake, Art (Wendy Mueller) of Cold Spring; sisters, Clara Gruidl, Rose Schaefer, Loretta Steil, Marian Molitor; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Bertram) Braegelmann, Margie (Klehr) Braegelmann; 31 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alphonse, Herb, Ray, Eddie and Issie; sisters, Veronica and Elizabeth (Erkens).
Memorials are preferred to St. Peter & Paul Parish in Richmond.
