Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Delbert "Del" Ritter, age 78, who died Saturday in his home surrounded by his family. Burial will be in the St. James Parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The St. James Menís Society and the Knights of Columbus Council #5344 will pray a rosary at 7:00 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 8:00 p.m.
Del was born in Ward Springs, MN to Paul and Rose (Minette) Ritter. He married Dorothea (Dottie) Fuechtmann on September 7, 1964 in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Melrose, MN. Del was a truck driver, owner operator of Ritter Transfer, St. Cloud, Duluth truck lines; Stemm Transfer; Joeís Trucking; E.L. Streich and worked building maintenance for the St. Cloud Times. He was a member of St. James Parish in Jacobs Prairie, St. James Menís Society and St. Boniface Knights of Columbus Council #5344. Del was a past Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council member, Cemetery Board member and Grand Knight of Council #5344.
Survivors include his wife, Dottie; children, Paul of St. Stephen, Sherry Ritter and her children, Brent and Kyree of St. Stephen, Glen (Kristin) and their children, Sophie and Noah of Eagan, John of St. Joseph, Ryan of St. Joseph and Lynn (Shaun Gallant) of St. Cloud; brothers, Leonard of Grey Eagle, Kenneth (Rita) of Sauk Centre; sisters, Rosemary (Don) Pflipsen of Sauk Rapids, Marcia (Wally) Czech of Royalton and Marlene (Edward) Klaphake of Sauk Centre; mother-in-law, Bertha Fuechtmann of Long Prairie; sister-in-law, Carol Ritter of Long Prairie.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ervin; infant sons, Daniel, twins, Tim and Tom and an infant daughter, Lora; father-in-law, Henry Fuechtmann.
