Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Eleanora ìEllieî Fuchs, age 55, who died Sunday surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. Parish Prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Catholic Aid Association and St. Boniface Christian Women at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Eleanora Elizabeth (Hommerding) Fuchs was born in Luxemburg Township, MN to Alquin and Luella (Faber) Hommerding. She graduated from ROCORI High School in 1969. Ellie married Mike Fuchs on October 13, 1973 in St. Nicholas, MN. Ellie provided day-care and was a second mother to many children in the area for 29 years. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ellie looked forward to visiting with people, playing cards and gardening. She was also an avid local sports fan.
Survivors include her children, Scott (Lori), Sandy (Dean) Dingmann, Stacy (Don) Heinen and Sarah Fuchs (Brandon Rausch); father, Alquin; grandchildren, Brianna Dingmann, Kirsten and Karson Heinen, Rachael and Emily Fuchs; brothers, Ron (Eileen) and Jeff (Carol); sisters, Delrose (Edwin) Hansen and Nancy (Wayne) Barthel; brother-in-law, Ervin DeWenter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mike (10-2-2006); mother, Luella; sister Donna DeWenter and nephew, David Hansen.
