Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Paul J. Blonigen, age 86, who died Sunday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring.  Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond (151 Oakwood Ave. S. E.).  Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by a rosary with the Golden Smiles, Catholic Aid Association, Knights of Columbus and St. Josephís Society at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Paul was born in St. Martin, MN to John and Christina (Arceneau) Blonigen.  He married Dorothy Schreifels on October 1, 1979 in Sts. Peter & Paul Church, Richmond, MN.  Paul loved farming, playing cards, bingo, traveling, telling jokes and stories.  He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Catholic Aid Association, Knights of Columbus and St. Josephís Society. 

Survivors include his step-children, Mike (Jean) Schreifels of Albertville, Kathie (Daryl) Johannes of Richmond, Ron Schreifels of Richmond, Lori (Wally) Mohs of Rockville; sisters, Rosa Schefers of Paynesville, Christine (Ted) Maleska of Avon; brother, Daniel (Irene) Blonigen of Monticello; brother-in-law, Larry Minnerath; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy (2002); parents; brothers, Clement and Frank; sisters, Veronica Schlangen, Clara Minnerath and Louise Linz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
