Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 5, 2007 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Marlin L. Wirtzfeld, age 76, who died suddenly on Sunday in McAllen, TX. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4p.m. Thursday (TODAY) and from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Friday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Cold Spring Fire & Rescue Dept., Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus and Cold Spring American Legion will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Thurs. evening.
Marlin was born in Muskegon, MI to Tom and Ann (Dold) Wirtzfeld. He married Delphine Nistler on May 10, 1951 in Holy Cross Church, Pearl Lake, MN. Marlin served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a longtime businessman in Cold Spring and a former member of the Cold Spring Fire & Rescue Department. He was a member of St. Boniface Parish, Catholic Order of Foresters, Knights of Columbus and the Cold Spring American Legion.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Delphine; sons, Tom (Marcia) and Dave (Lori); daughters, Janet (John) Harlow, Marylee (Steve) Miller and Terry (Dale) Wieweck; sister, Mary Jane (Dave) Cater; 13 grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
