at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Michael “Mike”
Fuchs, age 58, who died Monday at his home. Entombment will be in the
parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday and from
8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. Friday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold
Spring. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. followed by the Catholic
Aid Association and Cold Spring American Legion at 7:30 p.m.
Mike was born in Cold Spring, MN to Valerian and Alvera “Girli”
(Wolf) Fuchs. He married Eleanora Hommerding on October 13, 1973 in St.
Nicholas, MN. Mike served in the US Army and did a tour of duty in
Vietnam from 1969-1970. He was honorably discharged in April 1971. Mike
worked at the Cold Spring Granite Company for 39 years as a stone
polisher and other finishing jobs, and also volunteered his time
setting up bowling tournaments, fishing tournaments and company
parties. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cooking,
gardening, playing cards, golf cart rides and visiting with just about
anyone. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a member of St.
Boniface Parish, Catholic Aid Association, Disabled American Veterans
and the Cold Spring American Legion.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ellie; children, Scott (Lori),
Sandy (Dean) Dingmann, Stacy (Don) Heinen and Sarah Fuchs (Brandon
Rausch); grandchildren, Brianna Dingmann, Kirsten and Karson Heinen,
Rachael and Emily Fuchs; brothers, Tom (Irene), Ken (Joy), Bob (Peg),
Ron (Barb) Chuck (Judy) and Mark (Sue); sisters, Mary Jo (Lance) Weber,
Cindy (Greg) Budig and Cheryl (Rich) Dockendorf.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
