Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2006
at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in St. Nicholas, MN for Ralph P. Stein,
age 76, who died Tuesday at the Paynesville Area Hospital. Burial will
be in the Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
Saturday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The St.
Nicholas Men’s Society will pray at 7:30 p.m. followed by Parish
Prayers at 8:00 p.m.
Ralph was born in Luxemburg Township, MN to John and Gertrude
(Binsfeld) Stein. He married Pauline Schwegel on June 15, 1974 in St.
Anthony’s Church, St. Cloud, MN. Ralph served in the U. S. Army from
1953 – 1955. He farmed until 1985, worked at Animal Fair in Eden
Valley, Arnie’s Painting and Manhatten Toys; retiring at the age of 70.
Ralph loved spending time with his family. His hobbies include;
gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, horseshoes and playing cards.
Ralph managed the St. Nicholas Baseball team and was a member of both
the Watkins and St. Nicholas Baseball teams throughout his playing
years!
He was a member of St. Nicholas Parish, St. Nicholas Men’s Society,
Eden Valley Horseshoe League and the St. Nicholas Old Timers softball
team.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline; children, Grace (Terry)
Thielen, Kathy Theisen, Donald (Linda) Theisen, Elmer (Wendy) Theisen,
Duane (Leann) Theisen, John Stein and Karen (David) Lincoln;
grandchildren, Shawn, Kayla, Melissa, Amy, Robyn, Kimber, Brent, Stacy,
Donald, Damian and Connor; sisters, Caroline Plantenberg, Judy
Stangler, Isabel (Gerald) Schreder and Rose Mae (Joe) Nistler; brother,
Eugene Stein.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Melvin Theisen; sisters, Suzanne Bergman and Lucille Christenson.
