April 20, 1916 – July 27, 2006
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 31,
2006 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Cold Spring, MN for Agnes Koop,
age 90, who died Thursday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Sauk
Rapids. Burial will be in the St. Nicholas Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Monday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring. The Catholic
Aid Association, St. Nicholas and St. Boniface Christian Women, St.
Julian’s Mission Group, Cold Spring Legion and VFW Auxiliaries will
pray at 4:30 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:00 p.m.
Agnes was born in St. Nicholas, MN to Henry and Katherine (Theis)
Faber. She married Andrew Stommes on May 14, 1941, he died on June 25,
1947. Agnes married Herman Koop, MD on September 11, 1965, he died on
January 26, 1971. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, knitting,
quilting and playing cards.
She was a member of St. Boniface Parish, St. Boniface and St.
Nicholas Christian Women, Cold Spring Legion and VFW Auxiliaries,
Catholic Aid Association and St. Julian’s Mission Group.
Survivors include her daughter, Doris Kampsen; step-children,
Rosemary “Toy” Ward and Kaye Koop Roan; sisters, Aurelia Kozel and
Theresia Schmit;20 grandchildren;30 great-grandchildren and 4
great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Andrew Stommes and Herman
Koop, MD; sons, David Stommes and Kenneth Stommes; step-children,
Herman Koop, Jr. and Monte Koop, MD; 10 brothers and sisters.
