The mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Marguerite A.
Kalla, age 90 of Cold Spring, and formerly of Albany, will be 11:00 AM
Friday, December 2, 2005 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany.
Marguerite died Sunday at Assumption Nursing Home, Cold Spring. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery.
There will be a visitation Thursday
evening from 4-9:00 PM at the funeral home in Albany. The Albany
American Legion Auxiliary will pray at 6:30 PM; Christian Mothers will
pray with St. Mathilda Mission Group at 7:00 PM followed by Seven
Dolors Parish Prayers at 8:30 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Arrangements are being made by the Miller-Carlin-Brenny Funeral Home,
Albany.
Marguerite was born January 2, 1915 in White County,
Indiana to Anthony and Magdolene (Vebert) Ruschau. She married Aloys
Machtmes on October 7, 1936. He died on December 1,1945. She then
married Alois Kalla on November 19, 1953 in Seven Dolors Catholic
Church, Albany. The couple farmed near Albany for many years. Alois
died on January 6, 1986. In 1996 Marguerite moved to John Paul
Apartments in Cold Spring. Marguerite was a member of Seven Dolors
Catholic Church in Albany, Christian Mothers, Albany American Legion
Aux., the St. Mathilda Mission Group.
Marguerite is survived by
her children, Darlene (Jim) Mergen, Cold Spring; Alvin (Donna)
Machtmes, Fairfield, CA; Kathleen Rolfson, Cottage Grove, MN; Dolores
(Al) Schroeder, Richmond, MN; Alois Kalla Jr.; 17 grandchildren and 23
great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents,
first husband Aloys Machtmes, 1945; second husband Alois Kalla, 1986;
son, Donald Machtmes; daughter, Pauline Meyer; brothers and sisters,
John, Frances,
Mary and Sarah Raushaw; grandchildren, Rodney Rothstein and Donald Machtmes Jr.
