ALL-SCHOOL REUNION
Has it been 100 years already? It’s not likely you will ever celebrate your 100th Class Reunion, so here’s your chance to commemorate a centennial reunion – in your lifetime!
Contact your classmates and spread the news!
Sauk Rapids-Rice alumni, teachers, families and friends are invited to join the community in attending the Pageant, Parade and Food Fest – three days of events with opportunities to celebrate the centennial with the graduating classes from Sauk Rapids-Rice High School (1908-2008).
PAGEANT - The Miss Sauk Rapids Pageant is on Thursday, June 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sauk Rapids-Rice High School. It will feature a “Royalty Reunion,” inviting former Miss Sauk Rapids queens and princesses to be recognized through the years in photos and in person! Memorabilia from the old “Indian Days” will reflect how crowns and outfits have changed from feathers to jewels. Admission is $7 at the door. Please contact the festival coordinator if you were a former Sauk Rapids royalty or if you know of anyone who was, to help us update our contact information.
PARADE - The Rapids River Days Parade will feature “class reunion floats” to celebrate the centennial on Friday, June 27 starting at 6:00 p.m. Round up your classmates and show off your class year by decorating a flatbed, trailer or a hay wagon. Please submit a parade application form and $50 entry fee (per float) before May 16. A limited number of floats will be allowed on a first-come, first served basis. Parade applications are available on the festival website www.saukrapidsriverdays.com or by contacting the festival coordinator – see contact info. The parade route runs on Sixth Avenue from Pleasantview Elementary School to the Sauk Rapids-Rice Middle School.
FOOD FEST - The best fare and entertainment await you and your classmates at the Rapids River Food Fest, Saturday, June 28 from 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. at Sauk Rapids Municipal Park. This is a family-fun event with 25 food vendors offering everything from beef kabobs to corn on the cob, cheese curds to mini donuts, plus your favorite beverages and a beer garden. Stop by the Welcome Center to check in with classmates. Watch the Strongman Competition, Fire Department Waterball Fights, Ducky Race on the river, and live bands on stage throughout the day. Trout fishing, water wars and pony rides are just a few of the many activities available. Tokens are purchased for all foods, beverages and activities. Free admission, free parking and free shuttle bus to and from the park.
