ROCORI Spartans Varsity Football vs Little Falls

As we saw in the preview, the Spartans had a coming out party against the Little Falls Flyers. The Spartans were looking for their first win, and the game was close through the first quarter. However, the offense was hungry and the running game would eventually get on track. Watch this story and see all of the highlights from the first half.

The Spartans jumped out to the lead in the first half and the second would be no different. The coaching staff challenged the defense at halftime and they stepped up big in the second half. Watch and see the Spartans finish out their first win and also check out some of the backups coming in and producing at a high level. Stay tuned next week as the Spartans travel to rival Sartell.

ROCORI Football vs Little Falls Mini Highlight (9.21.07)

It was a "coming out" party for the ROCORI Spartans this past Friday evening when they welcomed the Little Falls Flyers to their home field.  In this clip you'll see a short pass from quarterback Adam Meyer to wide receiver Luke Vossen who then takes off down the sideline for a first quarter touchdown.  Even ROCORI kicker Jake Hemmesch has a great night putting it through the goalposts for the point after.

The ROCORI Defense also had a banner night last Friday against the Flyers.  This video clip is just one of many examples where the Spartans held strong allowing Little Falls to score only once during the entire game.  Zack Bork has a great night for ROCORI and here sacks the Flyers quarterback for a big loss.

On Friday September 14, The ROCORI Spartans traveled north to take on their tough Central Lake Conference rivals, the Brainerd Warriors. The Spartans looked impressive at the start, but the Warriors fought back feverishly. Watch the highlights from the first half and see all the action that you may have missed.

ROCORI Football @ Brainerd Quick Update

It was another back and forth battle last night between the ROCORI Varsity Football Spartans and the Brainerd Warriors.  Click on the video above to see the first touchdown of the game when ROCORI quarterback Adam Meyer makes a toss to wide receiver Zack Bork.  Bork jukes the first man and on his way to running a 85 yard touchdown.

A key defensive play that took place in the first quarter was a Brainerd fumble where the ball was turned over on ROCORI's 20 yard line.  This was the third game in a row where ROCORI came out strong but just couldn't put together a final score to come out ahead.  The team fought hard and was in this one every step of the way.

On September 7, 2007 the ROCORI Spartans played their home opener in front of a packed house. It was parents’ night, and the Spartans looked to earn their first win after a heartbreaking loss on the road the previous week. It was the season opener for the 2007 ROCORI Football season. Adam Meyer and Nick Schneider look to carry the load for the new season. Schneider had a great first have for the Spartans with 2 rushing touchdowns.

In the second half of the ROCORI Football Season Opener the Spartans found themselves down by 3 points. The Spartan offense sputtered and the defense stepped up huge.

When it was all said and done the Spartans started out with a loss and have a tough road ahead of them. Nick Schneider led the Spartan attack with 159 yards rushing and scored 2 TDs.

NEED TOWELS FOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Some of the football parents have been trying to get other parents on board to donate towels for athletic practices at the High School since no new towels were purchased this year.  Your sons-daughters can bring the donated towel in to Coach Theisen or they can be dropped off at the athletic department office.

ROCORI Varsity Football Spartans vs Moorhead

The ROCORI Spartans Varsity Football team traveled to Moorhead, MN last night to begin their 2007 season against the Spuds.  After a back and forth first half leaving the two teams separated by only 3 points ( R-18, M-21), the second half the Spuds shut down the Spartans offense with the final score 27 to 18 in favor of the Moorhead football team.
