Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm vs St. Cloud Tech Tigers Softball

It was the last chance for the Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm to stay alive in the section tournament. They would have to do so against a very good St. Cloud Tech Tigers team. It was an elimination game and Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm would hit like it was. They would make a great comeback in the 7th inning but it would come up just short. It was a great season for these girls and they look to bring back alot of talent next year.

Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm vs St. Cloud Apollo Eagles Softball

The Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm girls looked to extend their season with a win against the St. Cloud Apollo Eagles. Once again it was a windy, cloudy day but the Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm girls were able to pull it out. Shortstop Kate Spoden had a couple hits as did first baseman Amanda Graham. Amanda Graham would lead the way with 3 RBI and pitcher Tiffanie Walentiny would get the win.

Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm Softball vs Willmar Cardinals

This game was the first round of the Sub-section tournament. The Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm hosted the Willmar Cardinals and once again it was a nail-biter. Pitcher Tiffany Walentiny would allow only 4 hits as she had the strong wind at her back. Tasha Neu would come up with a huge hit in the bottom of the fourth and Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm would go on to win by one run.

Sauk Rapids/Rice vs St. Cloud Tech Softball

This was the best game of the season as Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm hosted St. Cloud Tech Tigers. It was a back and forth game that would come down to the end. Pitcher Tiffanie Walentiny was great on the mound and second baseman Allie Flock crushed the ball every time up.

Sauk Rapids/Rice Softball vs Brainerd

This story features a close game for the first three or four innings between Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm and Brainerd Warriors. After an early lead by the Storm, the Brainerd Warriors would catch up and make it a tight game. Outfielder Nikki Kothenbutel had a good game defensively as well as with the bat.

Sauk Rapids/Rice Softball vs ROCORI

The Sauk Rapids/Storm girls fastpitch softball team would travel to Cold Spring to take on a struggling ROCORI Spartans.  The start of the game was uncharacteristic for the Storm. They made a number of errors in the first few innings to allow ROCORI to take a 2 run lead. The Storm, however, would rally in the top of the seventh and to tie the game. Late game heroics became a part of the final finish for the Sauk Rapids girls.

It was a game that the Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm would dominate from start to finish. Tiffanie Walentiny was on fire on the pitchers mound and the top of the order would simply refuse to go out. Nikki Kothenbeutel led the way with 6 RBI's and Tasha Neu went 4-4 in the lead-off spot.

Sauk Rapids vs St. Michael Girls Fast-Pitch Softball

Its our first look at the 2007 spring schedule. The Girls Fast-Pitch team finally got a chance to get outside. They took on the Knights of St. Michael and it was a tough defensive first inning. A few errors would lead to a couple runs and the Storm would have to respond. The Storm girls were led by Alice Flock who had 5 RBI and Sauk Rapids would go on to put up a "W" in their first game.
