In our third installment of Jeff Howe’s soldier presentation, he reminds us that the best ways for soldiers to cope with their experiences abroad are to share their feelings and to stay active. During this story, you will also hear from a WWII Veteran that received a one of a kind keepsake from a Polish Prisoner during his service. In return for the man’s graciousness in offering the Polish soldier a meal, he received a ring that was made from a spoon. DigElog Sauk Rapids would like to thank Jeff Howe and the many others that help to positively reintegrate returning soldiers into our society.

It took the better part of the morning... on into early afternoon to prepare for the moment.  It was a job that required double the power anyone had thought would be necessary.  In the end it lasted a total of 10 seconds to see over 100 years of history come crashing to the ground.  And it all took place exactly 24 hours ago.

The Cold Spring Granite smoke stack, located on the edge of the Sauk River in Cold Spring, MN, came crashing to the ground. The demise of this over 100 year old community icon represented the closure of one era, in preparation for the beginning of a new one for the people of Cold Spring.

In our second edition of Major Jeff Howe’s story, you’ll learn more about the many issues our returning soldiers from Iraq are faced with. You will continue to be exposed to various photos as Major Howe discusses some of the living conditions that Iraqi civilians are living under. Lastly, Major Howe focuses on the importance of helping soldiers after their tours of duty in the military end. It is vital that we not forget about these brave young men and women that are simply trying to reintegrate into society.

Mr. Howe’s message is relatively simple, he seeks to raise awareness that returning soldiers, even his own, are being forgotten by our society.   There are some basic needs that require our focus and immediate attention. This is a serious concern for us as a society and we must see to it that these brave heroes are not forgotten.

The US Senate race shifted gears last week with Norm Coleman's official launch of his campaign. Coleman scheduled a three day tour around the state to announce his run. The DigElog video team ran into Coleman on Thursday, March 27th, when he stopped by the Copper Lantern restaurant on highway 10 in St. Cloud. Coleman has been known to tailor his message to the audience and DigElog was there to capture his message on his "Tour Of Saints" along the Mississippi river.

Coleman was greeted by a warm and attentive croud in St. Cloud that packed the restaurant from end to end. His message addressed a number of Republican core values and included some special comments about the Desota bridge project funding (bridge being repaired crossing the Mississippi on highway 23).
