Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm Varsity Football vs St Cloud Tech

It was a great game between the #7 ranked team in Class 5A and The Sauk Rapids/Rice Storm. The Storm traveled to Tech to take on the Tigers in Central Lake Conference action. It was a defensive dogfight and Sauk Rapids would force 4 straight turnovers to start the game. Evan Warnert would come up with a interception and fumble recovery and would also score the lone touchdown of the first half. Joe Statz was the unsung hero as he would, time after time, pin the Tigers with great punts.

In the second half the Storm would continue their powerful defense. The Sauk Rapids boys were wound up and would try and get through the big tough Tech defense. They wouldn't be able to scratch any points across in regulation but the game would go into overtime. The Storm would lose on a failed two-point conversion. It was a heart-breaking loss but the game had many positives that the team can build on for the near future.
