KMS Marching Saints
70 members
Director:  Pam Diem

The Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg (KMS) Marching Saints are from three small farming communities in Western Minnesota.  The towns have consolidated to form one high school which enrolls 192 students in grades 9-12.  About half of these students participate in the grades 7-12 band program.  The summer of 2007 the KMS Marching Saints traveled to Chicago and they hope to travel to New York in 2009.  The KMS Marching Saints have a very strong and active music booster group.  The communities of Kerhoven, Murdock and Sunburg support our marching band program in so many ways and we thank them because without this great community effort, the band would not exist.

As we show you another one of the many festival stories we’ve covered this summer, none may be as unique as this story. At the annual Sauk Rapids Food Fest, DigElog Sauk Rapids had a chance to catch up with Minnesota strong man, Danny King. King competes in the 175 lb strong man division, but don’t be fooled by his “low” weight. Some of the lighter participants at this competition can lift over twice their own body weight! Watch this exclusive interview and see all the highlights from this event.

It was back in 2005 that DigElog did an exclusive interview with Leroy Glazier and the custom made guitar he uses hand made by his brother.  It was the day Leroy was inducted into the Midwest Rock Country Hall of Fame, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award. When you view this story you'll be immediately impressed by Leroy's pleasant and caring demeanor.  This was a caring and loving man that truly enjoyed music and the people he played for.  This story has been copied on numerous video distribution websites and based on our rough statistics it's been seen literally thousands of times online.

We take great pride in publishing this story one more time in honor of this great man and the contribution he made to the world around him.

We'll miss your music Leroy... and we'll miss you!

Leroy Glazier entertained fans in the St. Cloud area for 40 years, playing traditional country-western and jazz. “His playing was so unique, clean and professional,” Nashville singer and recording artist Art Essery said. Glazier, 66, died of pancreatic cancer.  The Sauk Rapids man was much loved by audiences and fellow players for his classic country-western tunes.

This is a tough one for me. It may get a little long, for that I apoligize.

My old friend Leroy Glazier and his family are having to deal with a struggle that nobody should ever have to go through.

This past December, Leroy was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. After extensive surgery in January, the cancer was thought to be in a remissive state. Then in May of this year, Leroy found out that the cancer had returned to his pancreas and liver. As you can well imagine, Leroy and his family have experienced very high medical costs, and those costs will continue.

So a benefit gathering has been planned for Sunday August 10th at Dusty's Bar & Grill in St. Cloud, MN. This event will get under way at 2 pm and go until ?. Admission is just $10.00 and includes a spaghetti dinner and live music from Kevin Lange and the Mississippi Drifters along with many, many special guest performers. There will also be a raffle drawing with a lot of great prizes. Monetary donations are also being accepted and are very, very much appreciated. Donations can be sent to: Leroy Glazier Donation Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 115 1st Street North, Sauk Rapids, MN 56379.

PLEASE ATTEND THE "LEROY GLAZIER BENEFIT".  Sunday, August 10th,  Dusty's Bar... east St. Cloud.

The above is some information taken off the poster for the benefit, now let me add a personal comment.

Leroy has lived, worked and performed in the central Minnesota area for almost 40 years. I have know him for close to 35 of those years, and a more generous man you will not find anywhere. He has always been willing to sit down with someone to pass on musical advice or information, or just visit for a while. Leroy Glazier is always one of the first to step up and donate his time and talents when they are needed, so now, how about we return to favor.

I know many of you are familiar with Leroy's work from the Midwest Country Show on RFD-TV. Some of you like myself have been fortunate enough to enjoy his talents and personality in person on the same stage.

Leroy does not have a computer, so if you would like, you can pass along any well wishes and comments on this post, I will print them off, and make sure Leroy gets to read them.

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and prayers for Leroy and his family.
