– The Cold Spring Springers opened the 2007 season with a 7-2 win over HR Pesty’s in Lakewood League action on Sunday, May 6, in Cold Spring.

The Springers were led by second baseman Mike Burtzel, who went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and three stolen bases. Catcher Ryan Holthaus had two RBI, while right fielder Ben Griffin went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Zach Femrite pitched four innings, allowing one hit and striking out seven batters. Andy Bulson pitched the next four innings, allowing one walk and no hits. Zach Reif pitched the ninth inning.

The Springers are scheduled to host East Bethel at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, in Cold Spring, travel to Green Isle at 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and then travel to St. Cloud Orthopedic Sports at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 13.
