It was a great season for the Springers but it ended in heart-break. The Cold Spring Springers had another 30 win season but would lose in the first round of the State Tournament. DigElogROCORI covered nearly ever home game and brought you, the fans, up close and personal with the Springers

Cold Spring Springers vs Coon Rapids

The Cold Spring Springers were looking to advance to yet another Amatuer State Tournament. They would have to beat Coon Rapids in order to do so and Zach Femrite was in control from the opening pitch. The Springers' ace would go all 9 innings and pick up yet another shutout as the Springers would go on to win 3-0. Now the Springers are in the Class B State Tournament and their first game is Friday the 17th and, if they win they play the following weekend in a double elimination tournament.

Cold Spring Springers vs Soderville Outlaws

In the first round of the 2007 Regional Amatuer Tournament the Springers hosted the Outlaws from Soderville. Chris Buttala got the start for the Springers and went 7 strong innings. Ryan Holthaus' hot bat would be huge as he would get a couple of key hits to extend the Cold Spring lead. When it was all said and done the Springers advanced with a 11-7 victory.

Springers Prep For State Tournament

The Cold Spring Springers have made it to the State tournament again. The team has a record 46 State tournament appearances including an on-going streak of twenty straight appearances. This story features pre-scrimmage interview with coach Dave Hinkemeyer and shortstop Steve Huls as they prepare for their game Friday night vs. Chaska. If you aren’t able to make the trip down to the state tournament, KASM will also be broadcasting the Springers game live.

Cold Spring Springers vs Minnetonka Millers

It was a rough game for Andy Bulson and the Cold Spring Springers as they took on the Minnetonka Millers. Minnetonka came in with a 43-2 record and they showed why right away. The Springers had a 9 run uphill battle as the game progressed into the later innings. The Cold Spring Springers mounted a late inning comeback as they scored 4 runs in the 6th but it would be too little too late.

It was a thriller at the Cold Spring Ballpark as the Cold Spring Springers played host to the Dundas Knights. Steve Huls and Mike Burtzel would get clutch two out hits and

pitcher Rick Burtzel would be steller on the mound for the Cold Spring Springers. It was a back and forth game between the Springers and the Dundas Knights and the Cold Spring Springer fans in attendance were treated with a walk off win by their boys.

Brian was an all-state baseball player this past season and is currently in his second season as a member of the Cold Spring Springers. The Cold Spring Springers would take on the Austin Blue Sox game at the Nick Bell Classic. It was a pitcher's duel from the beginning of the game. Pitcher Chris Buttala tried to keep the Springers close with his pitching and did a great job. The Austin Blue Sox would get the better of Chris Buttala a couple times and the Blue Sox would only allow 2 hits in the game.

It was a good start to the Nick Bell Classic for the Cold Spring Springers. In their first game of the classic the Springers took on the Shakopee Indians and they jumped out to a three run lead. Pitcher Zach Reif, in his last start of the season, pitched well for four innings and then ran into some trouble. It would be 5-4 as the Cold Spring Springers came up in the bottom of the 4th inning and Cold Spring would scrape across four all coming with two outs.

Meet the Springers - Rick Burtzel

Rick Burtzel is a 2000 graduate from ROCORI HIgh School and he has been playing amateur baseball for roughly 8 years. He and younger brother Mike Burtzel make up half of the Springers' infield. Rick Burtzel started out playing for the Cold Spring Rockies and made the move to the Springers two summers ago. Rick plays third base and he is also a starting pitcher.

It was a good game to watch as the Granite City Greys and the Cold Spring Springers played in a highly contested game. It would come down to who would capitalize on more chances given to them by the other team. Steve Huls and Ben Griffin each had a couple of hits and Darren Heying had 2 RBI but it would not be enough as the Granite City Greys pulled the upset.

Pitcher Aaron Traut was on fire for the Springers as he pitched 6 innings allowing only three runs. It was a blowout win as the Cold Spring Springers compiled 16 hits and hopefully this is a sign the bats are coming around for them.

Huls, Griffin, and Rick Burtzel each had three hits.

It was a good weekend for the Cold Spring Springers. They would play 2 games Saturday and get a combined 32 hits. In the night cap against the Nimrod Gnats pitcher Aaron Traut would go 6 innings and allow just six hits. The Cold Spring Springers would ten run the Gnats and win by a 18-3 margin.

Cold Spring Springers vs Hampton Cardinals

It was a rough game for the Cold Spring Springers starting pitcher, Andy Bulson. He would get chases out in the 7th inning and the bullpen for the Springers would come on and pitch well. A combination of Zach Reif and Rick Burtzel would silence the Hampton Cardinal bats for the remaining innings. It was a final at bat win for the Cold Spring Springers in a strange game that saw two groundrule doubles and a close play at third that cancelled out a run.

Meet Ryan Lieser

The Cold Spring Springers finally started hitting after struggling the majority of the season with the bats. They gave the home fans something to cheer about. Springers Win In Bottom Of The 9th

Zach Femrite dominated from start to finish, and blew hitters away with the heat and rocked to sleep with the filthy slider. 16 strikeouts by pitcher Zach Femrite helped the Cold Spring Springers pick up a big win against the Sartell Muskies, a huge rival.

Meet Darren Heying

First baseman Darren Heying has been a member of the Cold Spring Springers for his 9th season and is off to another good start. Meet Ben Griffin

We had a chance to get up close and personal with one of the self-proclaimed "old guys" of the Cold Springer Springers. Outfielder Ben Griffin has been a part of the team since 1992 and has loved every moment of it. He is the starting right fielder and one of the bats the Springers rely on come playoff time.

It was a close baseball game from start to finish with both teams grabbing two run leads. The rain would come but only for about 20 minutes and after that it seemed the Cold Spring Springers really put the pedal to the metal and took over the game. Meet Zach Reif

Zach Reif is another ROCORI High School grad from 2003. He has been a member of the ROCORI Springers for his fifth summer now and is one of the key relief pitchers that they rely on. Zach Reif is a joker and a prankster but has the ability to flip the switch and get his game face on. Zach Reif talks about how fun it is to play in front of his friends and family.

This time it was the Austin Greyhounds who would have the number of the Cold Spring Springers. Pitcher Zach Reif would come on in relief and allow only 1 earned run.

Meet Andy Bulson
