Here's a series of commercials made by our own ROCORI Media Students on the topic of teen drivers. They put this together as a part of a class project and a contest put on by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. The top producer will win $1000 so we wish these contestants the very best of luck.
If you're a hockey fan or if you can remember the 1980 Gold Medal Hockey Team USA... you'll want to watch this video. It's a great story about a man who knew how to dream and then inspire new ideas.
These two kids, their parents and their teachers put an enormous amount of work into this story. It's amazing to see what can be done by our young people in this age of digital technology.

This is a ROCORI High School Media project that shows the new house recently placed up for sale by Mr. Christie's Residential Carpentry class.
Each year Mr. Christie's class has a major building project that provides hands-on experience for the students. This video shows how the home was built and includes a touch of High School humor that you're sure to get a chuckle out of.

YAM (Youth Arts Month) Jam was held this past Sunday, March 12th at the Rocori High School in Cold Spring. A wide variety of activities were held throughout the afternoon:
* Add dots to pointillism painting
* Ceramic pieces silent auction
* K-12 student art
* Face painting
* YAM Jam jewelry
* Student arts, music and drama

Here's another great media project by one of our ROCORI High School students. This story introduces us to ROCORI High School SNOW-DAYS week.
One of the fun events of SNOW-DAYS is the Medallion Hunt. A special medallion is hidden somewhere in the school and a special poem is written to help lead the student detectives to the medallions unknown location.

Ethan, our ROCORI media student who made his debut with "The Battle between Socks & Shoes", is once again exploring the edge of videography. This week Ethan is experimenting with Bluescreen which he plans to incorporate into his next production.
Bluescreen (also known as Chroma Key) is a term for the filmmaking technique of shooting foreground action against an evenly-lit monochomatic background for the purpose of removing the background from the scene and replacing it with a different image or scene. The term also refers to the visual effect resulting from this technique as well as the colored screen itself (although it is often not blue; for example, with greenscreen).
The key background color in the video signal is processed out and overlayed with content from a different video signal -- such as from a separate camera, a recorded video playback, or a digital source -- a process called "compositing". Both digital and analog techniques exist for doing this. The image replacement may be done in production or in post-production.
A classic example of the technique is the television news weatherman who on-screen appears to point at a map, but is in fact being recorded standing in front of a blank screen. On either sides of this screen are smaller televisions projecting a front view of the weather-caster, so they know where and when to place their hands. These early television effects were originally accomplished by a technique called chroma keying, but older analog methods have been increasingly supplanted by modern digital compositing techniques.

Here's another great example of youth creativity at ROCORI High School. This Media Class project is a video production using socks and shoes as the key actors.
It's a classic battle between good and evil. You'll be surprised what resources the socks call upon to plan their defense against the more powerful and dominant shoes.
This is one of those videos that will put a smile on your face and at the same time might have you wondering about the story behind the story.
Here's another ROCORI High School Media Student's rendition of the Rocori Winterguard dance and flag team. As you'll see in this video, there's more to the Winterguard than you might think.
This is a sport of precise timing and skilled hand coordination. Teamwork is a must and like every sport... practice and more practice creates a great performance.
Also, there's some beautiful outdoor Christmas lights footage taken by our DigElog ROCORI staff at a home in St. Cloud. We're not sure exactly why... but we decided to put it in. Just trying to get into the holiday spirit maybe. See what you think.
Do you remember times with Grandma where you made a Ginger Bread House together? Well at ROCORI Hight School, young people are making Ginger Bread Houses as a part of their schooling.

Well, coming to the big screens of ROCORI and computers around the world this November 30th will be XXX On Stand. Another ground breaking local production by the producers of Wizards and Swards. ROCORI High School has a wonderful multimedia program for students that DigElogROCORI is honored to be able to work with. These creative kids are working with a fantastic media instructor Linda Leibl, with the consultative assistance of our own Channel 10 Cable Queen Pat Grelson.
