DigElog Network Begins Coverage in Waite Park: Kids' Fishing Tournament

As part of the DigElog Network’s growth in the greater Central Minnesota region, we have branched out into our neighboring communities to cover other meaningful, positive, and most importantly, local stories. Our newest venture has landed us just to the northeast of ROCORI in the city of Waite Park.

In this story, you’ll hear from a former director of the Waite Park Kids Fishing Tournament, Rick Miller. After running the tournament for over twenty-five years, Miller has passed the torch to St. Cloud Muskies Inc. President Bruce Pitowski. Enjoy the sites and sounds from this great event and be sure to stay tuned to DigElog ROCORI next week as we begin our summer festival coverage from the “Land of ROCORI.”

This past weekend marked the 26th year of the Heart of MN Fishing Tournament. In this story, you’ll see a blend of video footage, interviews with the director of the tournament as well as participants, and still photos from the event. The Heart of MN Fishing Tournament is a great family-friendly event that serves as a fundraiser for the Richmond Civic and Commerce Committee. More importantly, it gives all of us a reason to get out on the Chain of Lakes and enjoy some great fishing. This year participants could not have asked for better weather. Congratulations to all of the winners and we’ll see you next year at the 27th Annual Heart of MN Fishing Tournament.

In one month, Cozy Corner's Campground will host the 26th annual Heart of MN Fishing Tournament on the Chain of Lakes. Be sure to clear your calendars for this great event. Here is a look at some of our coverage from the 2008 Heart of MN Fishing Tournament.

Last Year... The 25th Annual Heart of Minnesota Fishing Tournament was held this past weekend on the Sauk River Chain of Lakes that connect Cold Spring to Richmond. This annual event is a major fund raiser for the Richmond Civic and Commerce organization and their work to promote business in and enhance the well being of the greater Richmond Community.

This year was a record breaking tournament with over 400 buttons sold. The tournament is a catch and release style where all fish entries must to brought to the weigh station alive and once the fish are weighed they are released back into the lake.

This story includes a combination of live video and still photos representing all of the participants in the tournament who entered their fish. It also includes scenes from the evening banquet held at Cozy Corner Campground where all of the fishing tournament winners were recognized and door prizes were drawn.
