Bob Gerads Performs at Richmond's got Talent

Last weekend as part of the Richmond River Lake Days festivities, the community came together to watch the First Annual Richmond’s Got Talent. Sixteen acts performed for a panel of judges. Cash prizes were awarded to the top three finishers, and all other performers received a free pizza voucher from Jimmy’s Pizza. In this story you’ll see a full-length performance by Bob Gerads. While Gerads has been involved in countless DigElog stories throughout the years, we have never seen his singing and songwriting skills. Although he was not one of the top three finishers, he still gave a fantastic performance! Watch this story as Bob Gerads performs an original piece as well as a country music cover. ROCORI Student Sings National Anthem at First Ever Beltsander Races

On Friday July 24, 2009 the Cold Spring American Legion hosted the first ever belt sander races in the state of Minnesota. Eighteen participants uniquely decorated their belt sanders as they competed for cash prizes. Before the event took place, our National Anthem was to be played; however due to technical difficulties, the C.D. player would not play. Luckily, a brave ROCORI student named Bailey came forward and gave a beautiful rendition of our National Anthem.

Dr. Mary Jo Femrite, owner of Lakes Eye Clinic, is originally from Cold Spring.  Daughter of Bob and Darlene Dockendorf, she attended Rocori High School graduating in 1992.  During high school she was active in track, cross country and spent time waiting tables at the Red River Inn.  Dr. Femrite is active in the Minnesota Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry, presenting several case reports and research studies at national meetings.  She is very excited and honored to have the opportunity to return to Cold Spring to serve the eye care needs of the community.
