On June 13, 2009 St. James Parish of Jacobs Prairie hosted their annual German Picnic. In this story you will hear from Karen Schlangen, a local volunteer at the picnic. DigElog ROCORI had the chance to catch up with Schlangen on Friday June 12, 2009 as she and a number of other volunteers prepared some of the food for Saturday’s festivities. Aside from eating an authentic German meal, picnic-goers listened to the Elk River German Band, participated in quilt auctions, and attended an outdoor mass. There was plenty more to see and do at the festival so check out this story to see more!
