Raffle - Silent Auction - Spaghetti Dinner
4-8pm @ St. Boniface Church, Cold Spring, MN
Deb Hennen (Kelley), Rocori class of ’74, was first diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in November 2004.
Metastatic cancer was detected in her breast tissue and in the lymph nodes of her chest wall. Deb underwent chemotherapy and thankfully her cancer went into remission in April 2005.
Follow-up visits since then
had brought good news – until this past March, when a PET scan revealed
that Deb’s cancer had returned to the same lymph nodes in her chest
wall, having also spread to one of her lungs.
Deb’s second battle with cancer has made her very sick. So sick, in fact, that her doctor has ordered her to stop working. In late June, she spent several days in the hospital with hemoglobin/platelets at dangerously low levels. She’s been receiving blood transfusions and shots to increase her strength.
Deb’s determination hasn’t let up one bit. The only way Deb would agree to a benefit was if we could make it fun. So, please come on Sept 19, 2008 and expect to have a good time.
This disease carries an incredible financial burden with it. You can help by spreading the word, offering to sell raffle tickets to family and friends, and generously contributing.
