ROCORI vs Sartell Football Playoffs

ROCORI traveled to Sartell to take on the Sabres in the Section Semi-final game. It would be an ugly first half for ROCORI. Their defense would step up to the challenge and keep the Spartans in the game against a very difficult Sabre team.

It's a new half and ROCORI looked completely different. It was a half of unexpected. Brad Olson got injured and the Spartans had to bring in their third string QB, who brought them back from the dead. Derek Eisenschenk was the MVP for the Spartans in this game but they wouldn't be able to come from behind. Great season guys.

Its ROCORI vs. Sauk Rapids round 2. In the first meeting ROCORI beat up the Storm rushing for over 300 yards. Today would be a completely new story as it was the Storm who came out running over the Spartans. It was a ugly first half with no one team really gaining an advantage.

Its a completely new half for the Spartans as they finally would show why they had home-field advantage to begin with. ROCORI would extend its win streak to 4 as they would dominate the second half. ROCORI once again rode the backs of Alex Jungels and Nick Schneider to win this game.

Its the regular season finale for the ROCORI Varsity football team. The Spartans come into today's contest 4-3 on the season. ROCORI is trying to build some momentum as the playoffs role around. The first half would be the only have either team would score and the defense was stifling for the Spartans.

The final half of the 2006 season wasn't the most of entertaining but it really showed how great the ROCORI defense is. The Spartans recorded their first shut out of the season as they rolled 21-0 over the Eagles. With a 3 game winning streak, ROCORI heads into the postseason with everything in the right direction. It was a great regular season for the team and we wish them the best in post season play.

ROCORI vs Sauk Rapids Football Sec 8-4A QF

After a first half battle royal that had ROCORI ahead of Sauk Rapids by only one (7-6), during the second half ROCORI pulled away and dominated play on both sides of the ball winning 27 to 12.  Stay tuned for highlights of the game during the next few days.

ROCORI VARSITY FOOTBALL vs Willmar

Its another great game between the Spartans and the Cardinals. This time its senior night in Willmar and its absolutely freezing out. The weather was dreadful and the game was old fashioned, with each team relying on hard hits and great defense. ROOCRI would start with the ball and had a nice drive but at half things would be knotted at 7.

With things tied at 7 it would be another dog fight for the Spartans. Would they win a close one or would they lose another nail biter. The Defense that has been there all season for the Spartans would be called upon once again. The offense though ineffective for most of the game would find their flow when needed. They would advance to 4-3 on the season and now, for the first time, have a winning streak.

Rocori Football vs. Sauk Rapids

Its the first half of ROCORI in Sauk Rapids for Sauk Rapids homecoming. ROCORI is 2-3 on the season and Sauk Rapids is 4-1. It wasn't going to be a "gimme" game for the Spartans and they would come out firing on all cylinders. The Spartans were focused from the first whistle.

With the Spartans up 24-7 against Sauk Rapids they would come out and stifle the Storm offense. ROCORI's D has been one to reckon with all season long. The ground game for the Spartans would also get better as the game went on. Nick Schneider would leave no doubt in this one as he rushed for a career high 252 yards and two TDs.

Rocori Vs. Sartell Homecoming Game Highlights

It was homecoming for ROCORI as they played host to the Sartell Sabres. There is no one on the schedule that the Spartans look forward to beating more than the Sabres. It was a very hard fought battle for the 1st half. ROCORI jumped out to a quick lead but would struggle to find their offense for the remainder of the half.

Its the second half of the game between ROCORI AND Sartell. The Spartans come into the second half down by 14 and the defense for ROCORI came up huge in that half. They would only allow 3 second half points, so the Spartan offense had a chance to come back against one of the premiere teams in the state.

Its the biggest rival every year at every high school. The 2006 Powder Puff game was a great competition between the seniors and juniors. This year's game was dominated by the senior class but it was evident that both classes had a ton of fun. Watch and listen to how the girls act as football players and how the guys play the role of team coaches.

The first half of the game was a very wet and windy game. The Spartans struck first but Little Falls played tough for the first period and a half. It wasn't an easy game for ROCORI and a few back-ups had to play huge roles due to hamstring injuries to key players. Our Spartan Spotlight was on Dane Vocelka and he came through.

In the second half it was much the same for ROCORI. They maintained their big halftime lead and extended it. In the Process we saw the defense really come into their own. Coach Theisen during halftime put it on each of his defensive players to go and pitch a shutout the rest of the game. Watch how the defense responds to excel the Spartans to a 2-2 record.

ROCORI had a very tough string of games to start their season. They entered with a record of 1-1 as they took on Brainerd. ROCORI hasn't beaten Brainerd since 1991. Would the string continue or would the Spartans be able to put together a great game to beat the Warriors.

With the Spartans up 20-17 at the half could they and would they hold off the charging Warriors. It was another close game that came down to the last moments. The Spartans are showing these powerhouses that they are here for good. It might be the toughest three game stretch in recent Spartan history and to be in each of the first three games is saying something.

RHS vs. Alexandria 2nd Half

With a 22-6 lead ROCORI tries to close another win in Alexandria. Alex would not give up however as they strike quickly in the second half. ROCORI would fight tough all the way through the game but in the end come up a little short. the final score is 33-30. A very tough one to lose especially in Alexandria. Enjoy the second half of this game even though the Spartans couldn't pull this one out.

Its the second half highlights of a very good game between ROCORI and Moorhead. The Spartans prevailed 26-21 against a very tough Spud team. Moorhead jumps out of the half time locker room to 14 quick points but the Spartans didn't let that keep them from staging a late game comeback.

ROCORI Varsity Football vs MOORHEAD 1st Half

ROCORI Football is back to DigElogROCORI. The Spartans kicked off their season at home against a very tough Moorhead team. It was a busy night for fans which included parents night as well as a memorial ceremony honoring the late Kurt Langer. Kurt was the Offensive Coordinator for the Spartans from 2001-2005 and the abrupt end to his life has touched us all. This story takes a look at the first half of the game between the Spartans and the Spuds. As many of you know, the Spartans won the game 21-12, a first for the Spartans. ROCORI Football - 5 Team Scrimmage

Last weekend the ROCORI Varsity Football team traveled to Sauk Centre where they participated in a 5 team scrimmage.  Each team ran 15 offensive and 15 defense plays against the other 4 teams.  Those schools participating included Belgrade Brooten Elrosa, Fergus Falls, Melrose, Sauk Centre and ROCORI.  In this story you'll see a strong ROCORI team that has to potential to surpass last years Cinderella season that took the team to the State Tournament.
