St. Martin

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St. Martin Catholic Church in St. Martin, MN for Romuald H. Ehresmann, age 88, who died Tuesday at the Assumption Home in Cold Spring. Burial will be in the St. Martin Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the St. Martin Parish Hall. Parish Prayers will be prayed at 7 p.m. followed by a rosary with the St. Martin’s Lions, St. Joseph and St. Benedict’s Men’s Societies, Catholic Aid Association and the St. Martin Fire Department Friday evening. Arrangements were entrusted with the Wenner Funeral Home, Richmond.
Romuald was born in St. Martin, MN to John and Rose (Schaefer) Ehresmann. He married Lorraine Wuertz on June 26, 1950 in St. Martin Catholic Church. He was an owner and operator of Mondloch Inc. in St. Martin until his ‘retirement’! Romuald enjoyed singing as a member of the St. Martin Choir, directing the band, being St. Nicholas (Santa Claus) and taking his wife fishing. Romuald was never without a story and a smile. He also worked as a Funeral Directors Assistant with the Wenner Funeral Home. He was a member of the St. Martin Parish, St. Joseph’s and St. Benedicts Men’s Societies, Catholic Aid Association, Our Lady of Fatima Mission Group, St. Martin Commercial Club, Farming Sportsman’s Club, past Mayor of St. Martin, and a charter member of the St. Martin Fire Department and St. Martin’s Lions.
Survivors include his children, Joan (Clancy) Olmscheid of St. Martin, Mary (Jerry) Schneider of Cold Spring, Tom (Joelle) Ehresmann of St. Martin and Rosie (Bruce) Osendorf of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Jennifer, Curt, Eric, Tricia, Melissa, Jodi, Dana, Ryan, Nicole, Breanna, Kelsey and Shannon; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Chloe, Logan, Hanna, Aiden, Addison, Amelia and Graci; siblings, Juletta (Joe) Spanier, Catherine Tamble, Jerry (Joan) Ehresmann and Dorothy Dold.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine (March 27, 2009); his parents; brother, Donald; and one grandchild.
