Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Cold Spring, MN for Dorothy Willemsen, age 76, who died Tuesday at her home with her loving family by her side until the end. Dorothy received her wings and went home to Heaven. Burial will be in the Gloria Dei Parish Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wenner Funeral Home in Cold Spring.
Dorothy was born in Waconia, MN to John and Josephine (Rauschendorfer) Brandenburg. She married Jacob Willemsen on February 14, 1950. Dorothy cherished and loved her family. She worked as a nurse, waitress and a family bookkeeper. Dorothy loved spending time with family and friends. A Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Friend will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her children, Michael Willemsen, Susan (Howard) Stang, David Willemsen, Sandra (Paul) Bueckers, Randy (JoAnn Skaj) Willemsen, Brian (Margie Albrecht)Willemsen, Debra (Curt)Steil; sisters, Marge Grimm and Sandra Geisen; brother, Larry Brandenburg; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob (2003); parents; brother, John Braudenburg; granddaughter, Candy Willemsen; great-grandson, Gabriel Veurink.
