The Cold Spring Springers were looking to advance to yet another
Amatuer State Tournament. They would have to beat Coon Rapids in order
to do so and Zach Femrite was in control from the opening pitch. The
Springers' ace would go all 9 innings and pick up yet another shutout
as the Springers would go on to win 3-0. Now the Springers are in the
Class B State Tournament and their first game is Friday the 17th and,
if they win they play the following weekend in a double elimination

In the first round of the 2007 Regional Amatuer Tournament the
Springers hosted the Outlaws from Soderville. Chris Buttala got the
start for the Springers and went 7 strong innings. Ryan Holthaus' hot
bat would be huge as he would get a couple of key hits to extend the
Cold Spring lead. When it was all said and done the Springers advanced
with a 11-7 victory.
The Cold Spring Springers have made it to the State tournament again.
The team has a record 46 State tournament appearances including an
on-going streak of twenty straight appearances. This story features
pre-scrimmage interview with coach Dave Hinkemeyer and shortstop Steve
Huls as they prepare for their game Friday night vs. Chaska. If you
aren’t able to make the trip down to the state tournament, KASM will
also be broadcasting the Springers game live.
